Mole Removal

There is a wide range of moles and skin lesions that are benign and do not indicate to any medical issue.

These lesions can appear in various areas of the body, in varying distribution and in various ages, and in some cases there is a patient’s request to remove the lesions with little to no traces, in a simple, quick and effective action. This removal can take place using a laser device, so that in several minutes, following local anesthesia, the lesion is removed and healing is relatively quick and complication free.

In this context we should note other lesions, which usually appear in multitudes and who pose a merely aesthetic burden, such as protrudent blood vessels commonly known as “red spots”, stringy skin pieces that are commonly found in the area of the face, neck chest, armpits and crotch, and a wide variety of other lesions that can be easily removed using a laser device.

Lesions that are removed due to aesthetic reasons are not sent to histology tests (biopsy).

The process for moles removed for medical reasons, is as follows:

When?
Moles that have had some change in them (size, color, shape, borders, behavior), must be considered for removal and histology (biopsy).

How?
The removal of a mole should take place as a removal of the lesion, following local anesthesia.

Biopsy results
The biopsy results are accepted 6 weeks after removal. The patient must meet the treating doctor in order to receive the results.
